Hey!

I'm having a problem with using my monitors built in speakers. There is no audio sent over HDMI. I installed the latest Intel HD Graphics, Intel HD Audio and Realtek audio drivers.

The thing is, that with VGA (which I really don't want to use) you can use the 3.5mm jack on the monitor, but when using HDMI, it wants you to use audio over HDMI. Monitor is AOC I2369VM, MB is Asus B85m-g, CPU is a i5-4460.

When I plug in the HDMI cable, a new playback device even appears, but yeah...

It could be your HDMI cable or graphics, you could try Displayport as alternate solution if you don't want to use VGA.

EDIT: The mobo doesn't have displayport, so get a hdmi to displayport cable but why would you want to use built in speakers because their not very good. Unless it was temporary then don't use the built in speakers.

that mobo only have DVI,VGA and HDMI

under the Sound properties there should be an option to output sound over HDMI from the playback devices

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Go to Audio Devices, somewhere in Control Panel I think.

There you can tinker to where the sound actually goes to.

Are you sure that chipset even support display+audio through HDMI?

Because if you have something like an Nvidia or AMD GPU then hook it up to your monitor or HDTV via HDMI cable then it'll show up in Audio Devices.

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."
