New Ultrabook

Hello

I'm an Asian living in Australia

I'm a high school student and looking for my second laptop.

A high school use laptop, so I like light thin and good looking. Speed is very important and I have to have a ssd to keep me active and also I don't need a dedicated graphic, because NOT going to play games. I like Intel more than AMD I don't know why and I'm sure ultrabook  have to be a intel processes.

Here is some laptop I prefer:

Ausu Zenbook ux301la  i7 with 256g ssd

Macbook pro 13            i5 with 256g ssd

Here is the reason: The ux301 is in my opinion a really beast and gorgeous looking high end laptop. it god a really nice 1440 display with really good colour accurate and clean design. That iris 5100 will really push those pixels to the really nice monitor and I just loving it.

On the other side Macbook have no problem with the design, Apple always have the best built quantity. The retina display will deferentially kick the ux301's ass and I believe retina have the most good looking display I have ever used. I don't have any problems with this but but but I am a WINDOWS user and I have to run boot camp on that, but not all the time!

I can forward myself around $1800 AUD so please not any more expensive than that.

Please choose me either one of this or tell me a better laptop that under 1800 bucks and I tell what I think about it. Thank you. Sorry my poor English.

Thats not an ultrabook.

So? It performs better than an ultrabook?

It is still categorized as a high performance notebook

I think what he needs, is a portable long-lasting thin notebook

Not a thick 17inch 5kg heavy gaming laptop which lasts 1h while gaming.

I know that there is a lot of hate going towards Mac on this forum, but as he said, the battery-life on that thing is very good. I get ~7 hours out of my 15-inch 2012 MacBook Pro Retina.

Yes, no-one is arguing about performance ratio against your suggestion, but I think your totally disregarding what the OP is actually looking for. He is after all wanting something portable, long lasting and last but not least is not after a gaming grade laptop/ultrabook. So however you look at it and how nice it may be, the GE70 is not the best recommendation.

I personally agree on the recommendation of a macbook pro 13

Acer s7 seems like it can. Linus reviewed it. I'd make sure to get the 392 model.

I really get 9 hours of mixed battery life on my 2013 rMBP

Thank you thay guy who tell me about that Mai notebook. I think that would be really good idea if I don't have a gaming computer but I got one setting next to my desk . And the battery life on that is just not as good as something that can give me a whole day use at school and it is way to have. Remember I have books need to carry as well as this.

Most of your comment is to telling me a MacBook is a good choice for me. But I just can't use mac os. When I use it in my friends place, I feel I really missing something and it anyone me a lot. So boot camp will be installed and u will use it. As some of you may know that. Windows doesn't run that we'll on a Mac and the battery is just not as good as something is optimized.

And just one thing to add. I love long battery laptop.

And my first notebook is a Lenovo x100e, that was really amazing, but that one core just can't keep up with me.
