Upgrading Graphics Cards

Go to solution Solved by TechFan@ic,

Your best bet is an HD 7970. The 770 will be released next week you can wait & see how it performs or if it will have an effect on AMD's pricing.
I personally predict that if the 770 is indeed a re-branded 680 then a 7970 would remain the better choice for a number of reasons.

Including more memory, better Anti Aliasing performance & the game bundle.

Would anyone suggest a Dual-SLI configuration?

No I would not.

Hello,

I am upgrading my rig soon, and I am thinking of graphics cards. I will be running a 1920x1080 and a 1366x768 monitor. My budget for graphics cards is about $400 dollars, so no Titans. What would you guys suggest?

Thanks...

Alright, well I'm not 100% sure when more new Nvidia cards will be released, it could be very soon, and that could very well change some things. So it would possibly be in your best interest to wait and see how the market looks when you actually get all the parts. If I were to give you a recommendation as is, I'd say go with a 7950. Best price to performance ratio for the most part right now.

Why the duck would you need 16gb of ram? take 100$ from the ram so you only have 8gb and spend it on a gpu. also, look out for the gtx770 next week
