I got a DFI LanParty NF4-SLI motherboard for 25$. It has a Socket 939 from AMD and a nForce 4 chipset, with SLI functions. It also has 8 SATA2 ports and 2xPCI-e 16x slots. Pretty insane for a 2005 year board.

So im planing to build a SLI rig, but 2005 spec, with a modern touch.

AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 if i find one. Or a Athlon 64 X2 4800+ - Cooler Master Hyper 212 or Corsair  H80i
4GB = 4 x 1 GB DDR400 RAM (DualChannel)
2 x Nvidia GeForce 9800GT (not GTX)

Corsair Obsidian 200R
Corsair CX500M PSU

1TB WD Green and a Samsung 840 Evo 128GB SSD

Yellow LEDs

A few problems....

Will the CPU bottleneck the 9800? Reccomend some other slower graphics cards to SLI? It must be SLI, or it wont be fun.
Will the AM2/AM3 coolers fit the 939 socket?

Is the multiplier on the AMD Athlon 64 XX00+ CPU's unlocked?
How is SSD performance on SATA2?

Do i need a stronger PSU?

What you guys think?

Don't think about money, i plan on building this in the next few 2-3 years or so.

EDIT: For games i dont plan on playing something insane. CS:S, CoD 4 and CS:GO. Nothing more. And some old classics like Sudden Strike and Earth 2150.

Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad T61 Widescreen 15.4" 1680x1050
Intel Core2Duo T8300 2.4GHz | 3GB DDR2 from Hynix | SATA II Patched bios (Middleton) | Samsung EVO 850
Arch Linux | Linux 4.3.X x86_64
