1500$ PC Build

I've choosen some parts for a computer that I'm going to game, render and develop abit of games, I planned on paying 1500usd on this build but I really want to be able upgrade quite easily. In the future I'm planning to watercool the whole thing. I am planning on getting another monitor as well, right now I'm on an Philips 1080p  and I'm planning on getting a second 1440p monitor. If there's anything I can change to get the price down and get similar or better performance, if there's anything i can do to get better performance out of the same price, I would love to get some suggestions.

change the mobo to a z97 board, it is the only way yo overclock a k series intel gpu

 

if you want you could change teh ssd to something cheaper and use a r9 290 if your programs support open cl and/or you dont need gamestream/ gsync

Looks good but get a z97 motherboard so you can OC that CPU

 

personally I would get an SSD bigger than 120gb, get the 250gb model!

 

I would be pretty happy with the rest though!

the pc mate is good, and as long as it has what you need it will be good, make sure you get the sli one though or change your gpu

you need at least 250Gb ssd storage, if you are a real gamer you need a 500GB ssd

your first build leaves little room for upgrade and is oddly balanced, when you are having 2gpus less than 16gb ram is kinda a bottleneck

that r4 is no windowed btw, but it is a good build, you may want to trade some of your ssd space for more ram

dont need to spend all teh m,oney on a dark pro 3, live withg the 212 evon and upgrade to a custom water loop or h100i later, updated the cpu, added more ram, have a larger psu size but a the cost of trading wattage for a lower 80+ rating, still good though

If you want to overclock then, as others have suggested, you will want a Z97 motherboard. There is no requirement to overclock and one gets a very good performing system at stock speeds. If you have no desire to overclock, go with a locked cpu (i5-4690 or i5-4590) and the stock cooler.

 

BTW the cpu part in the pcpartpicker list is a tray version without a stock cooler. It is interesting to note that that part is more expensive than buying the retail boxed version with a cooler. No idea if the same holds true in Sweden.

 

I would suggest a different, better quality psu.

Make sure you change the 4670k to a 4690k. I clicked on the wrong one. They are the same price too.

I would suggest the G2 psu over the NEX.
