So i just upgraded my mother board to a MSI z97 Gaming 45, and my graphics card to a Saphire R9 290 vapor x, now my Razer Deathstalker keyboard and my utech smart mouse work fine in bios but when i boot to windows 7 64 bit they lose responsive qualities, all the lights on them black out, I imported my 2 Kingston 64gb SSD and my wd 1TB Black drive from my old system, i use 4x8GB corsair vengence DDR3 1600 Ram and a i5 4670k  currently not overclocked,  it boots to my desktop but the resolution is incorrect as well, any ideas on how i can fix this?

Have you connected your PC to the internet? Perhaps the drivers arent loaded.

Have you connected your mouse and keyboard over USB 2.0 or 3.0? Some motherboards have problems with the 3.0 connections.

Have you plugged in your display through the GPU or your motherboard? Have you checked the drivers?

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

The resolution is incorrect, and most likely your peripheral issue is caused by swapping out your motherboard, without re-installing windows. You're gonna have a lot of left over drivers now, from the previous board, that are going to cause conflicts.

I don't believe you HAVE to, however, it is extremely recommended to do so upon swapping out a motherboard. As for drives, you'd certainly have to format the OS drive, yes. This is why it's important to own an external, mass storage drive, so you can always pull off everything you need, do a fresh install, and still have all your files.

Hi,

Just a thought, is there a PS2 port on the motherboard? If so use the 2 USB ports nearest to that as they have default human interface drivers installed as a rule.

If you don't have a PS2 then USB ports 1&2 are the ones that you are looking for, most likely the two closest to the top of your case although the mother board manual should tell where 1&2 are!

Sorry if i am too late the party lol

get windows working through safe mode which by default uses minimium drivers.  At boot after the bios loads but before windows does hold down the Right Shift Key and strike F8 with fury.

What keyboard and mouse do you have? And did you make sure you plugged them into USB 2.0?

Did the mouse and keyboard work while setting up windows? And do the lights burn now?
