Hey there.

Okay, so basically, I plan on building my first gaming PC at the end of this month when I get paid. I am not the most knowledable person when it comes to building computers, which is why I have come here seeking for help from you guys. After spending countless amount of hours on websites like PCPartPicker and Amazon, I have given up on trying to find the best components without burning a hole in my wallet. I don't really have a budget for this PC, but there is no way that I am going over £1,000 unless it's absolutely essential.

I have no computer hardware or peripherals at home, whatsoever. As such, I need help in picking a monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones, etc. The mouse, keyboard and headphones don't have to be extravagant because I will most likely cheap out on them for now and purchase much better ones next month. The rest of the hardware, however, has to be good enough for my purposes; it should be upgradeable; and it the CPU/GPU should be overclockable. I'm not looking for an SSD right now, as they cost a lot, so I will most likely buy one next month.

Now, moving on to the actual computer, the colour scheme that I am going for is along the lines of being black and blue or blue and white. With that being said, I would love to use an NZXT Phantom or NZXT Guardian case if possible. If not, then that's fine. The computer should be able to run games at high settings if not ultra at good, playable FPS (60+ FPS).

Main usage:

Playing games - online MMO's and others. For example, Roblox, APB Reloaded, Minecraft, DCUO, RS, Battlefield, CoD, and the new upcoming releases.

Minor video and photo editing.

*coughs* Porn *coughs*

Browsing the web.

Watching movies online.

I am not looking for the ultimate build, as I know that isn't possible without spending thousands. All I'm looking for is something that is good enough to run games at high FPS in high if not ultra settings, all whilst multi-tasking. 8 GB of RAM is sufficient for now, as I will most likely upgrade it to 16 GB next month. Like I said above, I have nothing, which means that I need everything, including a Windows 7 CD. I will most likely use Amazon.co.uk or PCPartPicker to purchase the components I need to build my PC, unless someone else can find a cheaper place and tell me about it. Also, I live in London, so when helping me find parts, please make sure that the currency is set to GBP/United Kingdom instead of Dollars.

I appreciate all the help I can get from here. I look forward to reading your guys' replies! Thank you in advance.

Thank you to everyone who replied here. However, due to some unfortunate events, I have had to reduce the budget for my PC by a lot. This means that I can no longer afford to spend £1000 on a machine right now, or any time soon for that matter. Which is why I have decided to post a new topic with up-to-date information and sample builds.

If a member of staff could please delete this thread, I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
