Hey guys!

Time for a minor upgrade with a huge time requirement! Replacing the CPU and mobo and adding another rad.

I did this all in a rush and many of the pictures were taken in bad lighting as i started 6pm and finished 6am. Oh, and all taken with a cellphone. Hope you don't mind.

Original build

AMD 8350 4.8ghz

Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3 rev 1.2

16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz

GTX 680 2gb SLI

Samsung EVO Pro 250gb

EKWB 360mm rad

Corsair Carbide Air 540

Upgrades

i7 4970k

Asus Maximus Hero VII

EKWB 140mm rad w/ 140mm Noctua fan

2x EKWB 680 backplates

Original build. I was quite happy with it at the time i made it, but the lack of backplates for the gpus bugged the hell out of me

The holes on the bottom are a total pain in the ass since the case doesn't come with a filter for them. Even with positive pressure (3x 120 on full and 2x 140 on lowest) the dust collects way too easy.

Loop drained, parts taken out. Let it be said that anyone doing a custom loop that thinks they won't need a drain port will regret it. It was such a pain in the ass and took waaaaay longer than it needed to.

Cut off the tabs for the HDD hotswap. Ordering an acrylic sheet to place as a floor and maybe for some of the vents.

RAWR, BACKPLATES!

Opened the cpu-block up to refit it for 1150. Found gunk. Lots of gunk.

Such a pretty board

More gunk! This one was a pain to get out. Had to bend a tooth brush and even then I couldn't reach everything.

Only the loop left! Starting to look great at this point.

Oh, and don't worry about the Noctua color. The door covers it up pretty well so it's not an eyesore.

Loop done!

IMAG0103.jpg

Image quality going down, it's really late and lighting is horrible. Oh, and my hand is shaky because i forgot to eat.

Leak test! Filled her up with some EKWB Blood Red.

IMAG0107.jpg

Leak test results :(

Apparently the 90* corner fittings can start leaking even if you fit them perfectly. Had to throw one of them away.

There we go! Up and running.

I cut out the cardboard that the motherboard came with to temporarily cover up the holes at the floor until my acrylic sheet arrives. Hope you like what I've put together so far.

It happen more often than we though, even with expensive one.

Nice job, seem to be nice and clean loop, fancy hardware too ;)

Niiiice :D Backplates are indeed the best thing in the world. And a lack of them stresses me out :P

Right!? All gpu should come with backplates!

I love it! Especially the thick radiators, looks really really good :)

Thanks! I was kinda surprised when I first installed the 360 rad. Didn't expect it to look good, only bought it because it was thick. :)
