I have choosen parts for an bild with some help from the forum, and i wonderd if anyone else had anything to say about this build. This is my first build, right now I'm on a 300usd office computer that's 2 years old. I am going to develop some games with my friend whos on nvidia. If anyone has anything to say to help me get it down in price. I've based the parts on pricing and availability in sweden, there's no problem for to order from the rest of europe. For me this cost 1462usd in sweden if i could get that price down i would be thankful.

If you're going with that high-end of a build, an SSD as your boot drive is a necessity.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770 | Motherboard: Asus Z97-A | RAM: 8gb (2x4gb) Corsair LP @1600mhz | GPU: Asus TUF GTX 1660 OC 6GB | Case: Fractal Design Define R4 | Storage: 250gb Samsung 840 EVO and 1TB WD Black 7200rpm | PSU: Corsair CX750M | Display: Asus VG245H 1920x1080 | Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and default case fans | Laptop: Early 2015 13" Macbook Pro Retina - i5 2.7Ghz - 256GB SSD

Change to a non ref 780 if you  can, not the best in alarger case like define R4. I would also maybe grab a 290x or 290 non-ref if you want, cheaper, and better in performance, the 290x atleast.

I'd like to get an Nvidia card because my friend and i are going to dev a bit of games and it's easier if were on the same platform. And the reason I said the reference card was because it looks better But if there is major performance diffrence I'll probably change it.

Ditch the refrence card for something well, not refrence

So should i get an extra ssd and if so how big?

Get a 120gb or 250gb SSD for your OS boot drive and other small files and programs you want to start quickly. Then use the 2tb seagate drive you picked out to store large games, movies, pictures, and other large files.

I have no idea how much RAM game developing takes up, but I think you would be safer going with 16GB of RAM.

RAM is pretty cheap these days anyways so it shouldn't cost you much more than 8GB.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

SHould i get 2 Sticks of 8GB or 1 Stick of 16GB

There are no 16GB sticks of RAM (

hasn't come out yet). 2 sticks of 8GB RAM should be good though.

2x4GB of DDR3-1600 CAS <= 9 memory should be more than enough for the usage you have described. 2x8GB would be a luxury.

An ssd will make a huge difference in performance when doing development work. At least 120GB, although 240GB would be better.

Drop the hdd to 1TB if you need to cut somewhere.

Get a less expensive case. You may want to look at an mATX motherboard and case.

You could get a small psu, no more than 650W.

If you really need to save, drop the Hyper 212 EVO. It can always be added later. Or you could give up overclocking and go with H97 and a locked (non-K) cpu.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
