Encoding Help [Laptop]

I use my laptop lenovo g505s to encode videos. ( Ram = 8gb 1333mhz Mentioning this coz encoding uses ram. Right ? )

But the one thing i notice is that the encodung takes a long time and when i was encoding a few time back i opened the task manager and i see that the encodng software uses only 3gb of the ram.( And the temperature of the laptop is low)

It takes me 5hrs to encode a 15min video Please help.

Video encoding is mostly CPU bound. Video editing requires a lot of RAM.

You are probably being bottlenecked by your CPU. The only things I can recommend for speeding things up is change encoding settings, or change program completely.
