I am helping my cousin build a PC by selling him my old components (CPU, MOBO, GPU, PSU) This gives me the opportunity to give myself a nice upgrade.

Components being sold-

  • Intel i3-4130
  • AMD Radeon HD 7850
  • MSI-B85M-G43
  • Corsair Cx500M

 NEW BUILD RATIONALE-

  • Budget at 750-850 USD ( If I can get what I want for less that would be wonderful!)
  • No overclocking
  • I want the potential to game at 1440p with high details
  • I have an ARC MINI R2 so only MATX
  • I will NOT need new RAM, Storage, Case, Keyboard Mouse, Monitor and Fans.
  • I may possibly dabble in video editing and game streaming, Not likely because I work a lot.

CPU

After watching Tek Syndicate's build guide that featured the Intel Xeon 1230 I became interested in the price of the xeons. I do not believe I will need the 1230 since I do not video edit. Will the 1220 or 1225 do fine? Should I just stay away from xeons altogether? The lower end i5s have a very attractive price, should they be in consideration for a 1440p gaming PC? I need some good advice please.

Options-

  • Xeon 1225
  • Xeon 1220
  • Core i5 4570
  • Core i5 4670
  • Core i5 4460

GPU

Is the 280x good enough for 1440p or will I need to move up to the 290? I suppose room in the budget can be made if more is saved on the CPU and MOBO. Heat isnt an issue due to the fact I live in a basement and my room is cold all summer and all winter.

Options-

  • R9 280x
  • R9 290

MOBO

I will not be overclocking and I am comfortable spending 100-130 dollars on a motherboard.

Necessities-

  • MATX form factor
  • 4 Dimm Slots

Wants-

  • Right angle Sata
  • Right angle USB 3
  • Good audio solution for my ATH-M50s ( do plan on getting an objective 2 odac later on)

PSU

The coolermaster V650 is at the top of my list at the moment. The only thing I dont like about it is the damn ugly 24 pin connector! But that is an easy fix with an extension cable. Are the cheaper options that will do just fine at powering the system?

Necessities-

  • 550-700 watts
  • Modular
  • At least a bronze certification

Any help will be truly appreciated! Happy to answer any questions if I left anything out ! :)

The R9 290 will do just fine on 1440p with high settings. Xeon's are not for gaming an i5 would do nicely i would also go with a EVGA PSU they are every good for the price.

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life
