Hey guys, so what I'm looking for is an upgrade from an AMD A10 7700k 3.4GHz APU to something that can handle games that require a lot of processing power.

Here are my current specs (Looking to upgrade the mobo if needed)

AMD A10 7700K 3.GHz

Corsair H80i Liquid cooling

HyperX 1600MHz 1x8

Arctic Cooling 850W PSU

Noctua NF-F 12 120mm Case fan

Gigabyte F2A88X-DH3

EVGA GTX 780 Ti 3GB 384-bit

256GB Transcend SSD

Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

My limit is around £600/$1000

this should be good for anything thats out there but if you really want to upgrade here you go

AMD: AMD FX-9590 and a ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0

Intel: Intel Core i7-4820K and a ASUS P9X79 LE

this is overkill and for your budget you could go even more overkill also note that I dont think these come with fans also I would consider getting more ram

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Neither of those make sense :/

A 4790k + z97 gaming 5 will do fine.

If budget is tight go with an FX 8320 and overclock; if budget is no concern get an I5 4690K :)

He has the money for this kind of upgrade and like I said this is overkill

No point getting a FX 9590 as it's pretty much just an OC version of the FX 8350.

@Saeko if you aren't going to be doing any heavy rendering of professional work  go with an I5 4690K or an FX 8350 as they are both very good CPU's :)

Neither make sense though. Both would give worse performance than a 4790K for more money.

Only if you overclock

Piledriver @ 5GHz == stock 4770k in 8 threads

ivy e @ 3.7ghz is 10% slower than haswell already, 4790k clocks at 4ghz out of the box making it ~15% faster stock v stock

not sure where you got your numbers from :(

compare overclocked benchmarks for yourself

4790k

fx9590

4820k
