Is this guy actually doing it correctly?

Hi, I'm looking into replacing my laptop's thermal paste and stumbled upon this tutorial. In it, he applied thermal paste to BOTH the copper thingy and the CPU (or whatever is on the damn thing). Isn't this wrong? Isn't the point to put a tiny dot on one side and that's it?

Also, why did he spread it? Doesn't that create air bubbles? Any help is appreciated.

It's best to put 1 dot on the GPU/CPU itself and just let the cooler spread it out. I think.

It shouldn't be any different from desktop thermal paste application. I'm not very sure though.

It's not different with the exception that the laptop cooling system usually has several contact points instead of one.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.
