AMD or Nvidia for Streaming

Go to solution Solved by Kevinkt,

I though about going for OBS if i would choose an AMD Gpu.

I would. It doesn't look bad@720p http://www.twitch.tv/pjammin/b/555314728 that's using these seting here   2sQ2J7g.png .

doesn't really fuck with my framrate in wow 25 man raiding that bad(wow raiding is really cpu heavy in 25 man raids), i still stay over 30-40 fps...... keep in mind i'm using a dualcore Pentium.....

There would be less of a performance hit using ShadowPlay. AMD has their own equivalent software now, but from what I have heard, GameDVR isn't that amazing.

if you're using OBS and have a intel CPU, just set it up to use your IGPU/quicksync. works ALOT better and i don't really lose much framrate. ps i'm using a pentium dualcore when i stream.

nvidia has a mature app for streaming

AMD is just starting

or u can just use OBI (uses intel's onboard H264 encoder)

damn it beat me to OBS

Just go for the one that suits your other needs the better. GameDVR will almost certainly be as good as shadowplay soon so that isn't really a factor imo. Either way, I always recommend an R9 290 if you have the budget, it's the best high end card you can get for price/performance at the moment.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I though about AMD because i am a bit dissapointed from Nvidia, even if i am an Nvidia fanboy i slowly turn to the red side.

What is whit the r9 290x?

It's just not worth the extra money over the 290 imo. 100 bucks for 10% extra performance doesn't seem like a great deal to me. If you have doubts on which one to get, the sapphire vapor-x is the best one on the market but it is kind of expensive, so to spare some money you could go for the asus dcuii or sapphire tri-x instead.

I heard that the asus direct cu2 cooler isn't very good.

I have one, no complaints. Maybe I'll post a review later down the line so I can fix some of the bad press it's getting for no real reason :(

yeah I have an asus 660ti and it runs pretty cool, but I'm not sure how it compares to other manufacturers is what I meant.
