Memory unsupported because too slow?

So i have an Acer Aspire M5620 that i tried to stick some kingston valueram in and it doesn't work? O.o

The computer works fine normally and i've tested the memory in a different computer but when i put this memory in i get no display. On the acer website it says it supports "667/800Mhz DDR2". The memory i'm trying to use is 533Mhz, Is it just to slow? I didn't know that was a thing.

have you tried with the single dimm that you bought? rams might be not compatible with the other rams plugged in

Yea i tried each stick in a single slot and always no display. They are all matching sticks and brand new.

DDR2, yes it could be the case that your slower ram does not work.

 

If i remember this right from my P4 laptop, i was also only able to install ram with supported speeds.

So probably you gonne need a 667mhz or 800mhz SODiMM.

But you also have to check how much ram your laptop supports in total.
