I like many people like to use my desktop a lot of the time, the problem being that during summer and hot days the room in which my computer sits gets crazy hot, and that's before I've turned on my machine. It just gets worse after having it on for a while, let alone playing games then having to sleep in the same room (the ventilation is pretty bad but there isn't anything I can doabout that)

Any ideas as to how I can get my machine as cool as possible? With the high ambient temps my i5 2500k idles at around 40-50c and gets worse when gaming (this is after undervolting)

I have a gtx 560 ti

a case with a front intake fan and 2 exhaust fans

an artic cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2 for my cpu fan

and all the other usual components

I've replaced the thermal paste and tidied up my case wires but it's still a toasty computer :( maybe I should look into water cooling?

AIO Water Cooling solutions like the Corsair H100i are sure to keep your CPU cool even if you decide to overclock.

As for GPU a good aftermarket card and good case airflow are key as well as a low ambient room temperature. At this time of year I highly recommend having a window open and the door to allow fresh air to circulate through. High ambient room temperatures will affect your computers atmospheric temperatures.

Watercooling might help a bit, but a radiator cools the water by pulling air through, which means temps won't improve massively. Portable Air Conditioning unit? Let me have a look around for you.

-EDIT- Ok, do a dust cleanout if you haven't yet, make sure nothing is restricting the fans, and maybe even open the side panel? Sleep/Hibernate the computer whenever you aren't using it.

Thanks for the replies, man I'd love a portable air conditioning unit, problem is they're pretty big and expensive and my room is pretty small. As for the dust that's another problem, my room is seriously dusty, like there is just dust everywhere and it keeps coming back
