IMO the intel pentium or i3 core can be a great HTPC build

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I would pick up a cheap air cooler, like the coolermaster tx3, just because it'll be quieter than the stock cooler, and a media pc shouldn't be producing much, if and audible noise, even if not overclocked. Plus the ps07 gets considerably better performance in cooling the CPU when a tower cooler is used.

Otherwise, that's a good media build

since its only for media people thos components are to much

8gb for a media pc why ? it won't make sense just waste of money.

when adding a cooler for 55$ and you raise the budget with 5$ you get water cooled more silent

for media pc this is what i think will be better since the only hot part is your APU you won't need a lot fans in the case even when it is water cooled

you can have 1 intake fan on the front and let your water cooling be an exhaust at the back everything will run smooth and not hot and above all quiet.

the 8 gb ram will never be utilized not even the 4 gb this is more than enough, when you play 1080p video the APU will be used around 30 to 36% this means it is capable of 3 1080p movies at the same time.
