Hello Everyone!

So I'm building a new pc for gaming, video editing (with Premiere Pro) and for Photoshoping.

Now I use one MSI AMD R9 270X Hawk and I love it, it is really quiet, but it seems the performance is not enough.

My question is: If I buy another MSI R9 280X graphics card, can I run in crossfire these two card? (R9 270X and R9 280X). I know that it will only work on the lower gpu frequency, but I think this 2 card will be enough.

If this possible? And a Corsair RM750 psu will be enough for the 2 card?

Thanks for everyone in advance

No.

You need the same GPU-s to crossfire.

Considering some of the new-gen AMD cards are rebranded 7000 series, you can also crossfire with the appropriate match.

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

Thanks for the fast reply, but I'm newbie in this crossfire thing, and somewhere read that crossfire support different cards, only the architecture matters, but than I think I will buy another 270X card, thanks!

IMO

get a higher series gpu like the 290

crossfire 270X is good for 1080P but bad for higher res like 1440P

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

What it's saying is that there are (basically) always 2 cards within a performance bracket which uses the same architecture, in this case it's any card with the same last 3 numbers.

So, R9 270 cfx with R9 270X will work (iirc) R9 280 with 280x etc. (cfx is crossfire x in case you didn't know, "official" amd terminology)

I suppose you can crossfire R9 270x if you're only gaming on 1080p, but next gen (or whenever you upgrade) you should consider getting a higher end single card

as bloodwithice said, you can cfx it with a 7870 because it technically uses the same core, but you'll have to bios flash the 7870 and imo it's not really worth the trouble
