New game issues

I bought the Witcher 2: assassins of kings enhanced edition on steam in the Christmas sale, and I cant get to the end of the tutorial without the game crashing, anyone have a solution for this, I also bought Bioshock at the same time and can't get any sound, I'm running windows 8 pro 64bit.

Not a lot of information but have you tried updating drivers and/or doing a clean install of both games?

All of my drivers are up to date, and I'm currently re-downloading Bioshock, I think I've sorted out Witcher 2.

Sounds like driver problems to me, but if they're up to date I don't know what it could be. Try checking the steam forums sections for both games and see if anyone has similar problems.

I think it's just that Bioshock was designed for windows XP and vista, because it seems that it has the same problems in windows 7, but the fixes don't work in windows 8, I'm going to see if I can get a virtual machine running XP because their are some really old games I'd also like to play like dungeon keeper
