Why SO many fans for option 2 really now. AMD has Mantle (which will only get more used and better) and the 4690 can easily become a 4690k which wipes the 4440 away. As for R9 290 vs GTX 780 it is really the same unless noise and temperature are THAT much of a factor for you.

I take it that the 290X is much more expensive than GTX 780 in your locale. In US the difference is small.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
