ok, i have no idea if anybody here know about security dvr, i'm trying to search for files on it and this thing is a mess, at some point someone changed the date, and made some files inaccessible because thing only searches for date and doesn't show everything it has on it any other way, i tried pulling the hard drive and put it on a spare 7 machine i had lying around, the hard drive is formated in god knows what, and in 3 partitions of 155GB, i haven't formatted or changed anything, but i wanna know if there is a way  i can access the files from the pc,

probably nobody here knows about this but at least i had to ask because google is mess on hits about this

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

What is the brand/Model of DVR, Some higher end DVRs will encrypt the files when they save them as well.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

Ok, is this a home security DVR, or a professional/Business class unit?

Is there any branding or logo's on the device(if so a picture of a logo could be helpful)

how big are the files?

Also LVF files are common for generic DVRs from china.

It is most common for the files to be recorded in short clips that just keep going until the drive was full at which point it records over the oldest files.

If the drive wont mount on your windows 7 PC i recommend getting a live USB/CD for Ubuntu and try accessing the disk from linux and then copying the files to a use to manipulate in windows.
