I know the title is weird. But has this happened to anyone here? I was freaking out, I had only got my new parts a couple of months ago. Anyway I had just got done playing Watch Dogs and watching a movie the Ellery Queen and The Murder Ring (1941) . I went to do a restart after I was done watching the movie because I just like to do a restart before playing a game after browsing or watching movies online. And all of the sudden I could not get any functions selected. It was acting very strange. Then I did a old fashioned Commodore 64/128 restart. Then I went to hit del to go into bios to check and make sure my temps were fine and it just hung and took forever to go into bios. At about this time I was freaking out. I even reset the bios and still got the same thing. Then I saw my USB thumb drive was still in the front and I pulled it out. An as soon as I pulled out the thumb drive my rig started working perfect again. I never heard of a thumb drive causing a PC to act weird. Just to make sure I plugged it back in and sure enough, It started doing the same thing again. I am so relieved that my PC is ok. I was so scared that my motherboard went bad on me. That would have been a awful pain trying to get a RMA on a motherboard, Has anyone ever had a thumb drive do this? This is one of the more bizzare. That was my only thumb drive, so I hate that it has gone bad. But it's better the thumb drive than a RMA.

I've had my PC running a little slow when it was trying to read a corrupted USB stick, but nothing like what you're describing.

that's really weird.

Do other usb drives behave the same when plugged into the same port? I've never experienced anything like that and was wondering if it could be circuits gone bad or something?

I went to the dollar store and bought a new one and it works fine. I don't know if I spilled something on the old one or what. I tried it in my older Rig and it did almost the same thing, The thumb drive started to get warm, then it started acting up.
