Ok guys. Im a little bit confused on how to choose the right power supply for my rig. Here is the list of my parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qjVpzy

It says on the site that the estimated wattage i need is 795W. What PSU should I get? Should I get something like 850W but 80+ Gold? Should I get a 1000W 80+ Bronze or what? And I need to keep the cost low too. Thanks guys

Why do you need a lot of hard drives and ssd? Just get a wd 1tb black and a 840 evo 250gb ssd.

first off

what is the purpose of this build?

why the 32GB of RAM?  16GB is already good enough

why dual GTX770? GTX780 6GB single or a GTX780Ti will be better than dual GPUs

I will suggest the CoolerMaster N600 Windowed case

if you just need a single GPU 600 watts is enough

otherwise for dual GTX780/Ti need 850 watts

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I'd go with 950w+ to allow some headroom for expansion and overclocking.

also, if I was going for a high end rig like this, I would go for better SSDs, as the kingston v300s replaced their controllers with lower quality ones in february

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4

@deuel18 Hello, regarding which power supply you should choose I'd advise a 850w 80+ silver-platinum certification however after looking at your pcpartpicker spec list I do believe there should be a lot of changes that can save you a couple $100-200 dollars and more power hungry components.

Thanks. And the reason why i have it this way is because this is the end of my future update on this rig. I already planned out everything on my rig on this specification so I won't have to run on some difficulties in the future because I already know what to buy. Yes, things are changing but this is just an overview of my build at the end of my upgrades. Also the motherboard Asus Z97-A is a bit meticulous with the RAM, the mobo has specific lists of the ram brand and stuff.

it will be clearer if you list the current planned and the possible upgrades you intend to get

first off many games need ton of GPU power which the GTX770 do not have

you should be looking at the GTX780 6GB version or the GTX780Ti

dropping to just 8GB will be good enough

swapping the SSD to the Samsung Evo 250GB and a 2TB HDD

keep the PSU to the 850 watts for future SLi upgrade

you're not going to run into ram issues as long as you stick to 1600mhz DDR3, and 32gb is overkillfor gaming

Isn't that PSU a bit too powerful for this build?

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

Yeh, kinda, an RM850 would also do nicely.

Yeah I will. But this config is just an overview.

How about this build?

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/deuel18/saved/dbKKHx

I'm hearing a lot of negatives about MSI mobo but their non-reference graphics card have prominent marks with cooling capabilities.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/deuel18/saved/6BjBD3

This one is build around Gigabyte, but I'm planning to over clock and I am a beginner in overclcoking. Idk if gigabyte's mobo can handle me as a nube in over clocking.

Sorry, I erased them. I feel the real driving force on choosing parts right now is the price point.

But my point is, will MSI mobo + GPU work really good? Or should I just consider them at the very least of my list?

If I choose Gigabyte, are they that reliable? If they are, are they good at over clocking? Can I rely their mobo in over clocking?
