I have one question. I am currently using a gtx 780 TI as my GPU that has two entries 8 pin each, and to connect that I am using 4 entries 4 pin each and adapting every two 4 pin to one 8 pin, is this a bad thing to do? Is the GPU losing power because of this?

Slap yourself in face.

Good.

Now get a proper PSU with 6+2 PCIe connectors.

If you used 4 pin connectors to power your graphics card you either blew your GPU or your PSU.

I have one question. I am currently using a gtx 780 TI as my GPU that has two entries 8 pin each, and to connect that I am using 4 cables 6 pin each and adapting every two 6 pin to one 8 pin, is this a bad thing to do? Is the GPU losing power because of this?

You mean PCI-E 6pin to 6+2pin adapter? If you are using these adapters, I would personally wouldn't overclock on the card as the two extra pins are ground pins which allows the card to draw 150w instead of 75w. You might be able to run the card at stock but it may be unstable when on load.

Thank you, that is the cable, and that might explain why I cant overclock a card made for overclocking, dual classified edition, how can I solve this problem? I think I do not have two 6+2 pin conectors straight from de PSU

What power supply do you have currently and what are your computer specs? I would recommend you to get a power supply that has dedicated 2 6+2pin pci-e power cables instead of using adapters.

I am currently using a Corsai 850W and I will change my CPU and MOBO to i7 4790K and maximus vii formula when it comes out. I will take a better look at my cables and see if I have two of that

A 850W should have these cables as a 550W power supply has at least 2 pci-e 6+2 pin power connectors these days.

Ok, they are probabbly tied up behind my case, because I bought this pc already mounted and they plugged every cable at the PSU and tied up the one that are not being used behind it.

That kind of defeats the point of a modular PSU though.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

A modular PSU is one where the cables aren't fixed to the PSU, and you just connect the ones you need.

There seems to be two models of the TX850, but check the connectors on the PSU, they're usually marked on corsair power supplies. There should be two connectors marked "PCI-E", which are 6+2 pin connectors. These ought to be the ones you want.

Again, seems to be two models, but this is what your PSU should look like.

See the two PCI-E labelled connectors in the image? Those are the connectors you want. Add the additional 2 pins hanging off the side for your 8-pin connectors.

Great. if you get stuck, quote my post so I get a notification and I'll get back to you ASAP.

So I pluged in the PCI-E cable with the 2 pin on the side, just needed two cables this way, not 4 as I was using.

Overclock is stll not working, this are the configs, I still got artefacts on Kombustor:

If your overclock is unstable, you would need to increase your voltage and test again to see if it is stable enough but increasing the voltage will increase the temperature of the gpu.
