I'm going to be building a new gaming pc this summer and I need one question answered. Air cooling or water cooling for OC'ing my CPU? Which one is better for the price. I hear corsair liquid cooling is great, but can I get away with something cheaper in air cooling that  will perform pretty close to Corsair's products?

Here are the parts I'm looking to get:

MSI 670

MSI Z77A-GD65

Intel i7-3770k

Patriot intel Extreme Master RAM (8GB x 2)

Corsair 750W PSU

The cooler I'm looking at now its the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Is this a good air cooling choice, or should I go for something like a Corsair H100?

Thanks.

The hyper 212 evo is a decent choice, but you wont see nearly the same performance as the h100. If you want to go air cooling, the best option is the Noctua NH-D14. Also, that power supply wattage is overkill for your current configuration, and you might want to wait and see what happens with Haswell and GTX 7xx.

Get a NH-D14--great cooler.

Pick the cheapest CL9 1600 16gb set of ram you can find.

A z77a-G45 should do you fine.

If you don't need to render/edit, get a 7950.

If you're not a really heavy user, a 3570k will do you fine.

A cx600 will be more than enough unless you're planning on sli/crossfire.

The Noctua NH-D14 almost matches the H100's performance and is only £60 - £70 depending on where you buy it.

MY RIG:

WHITE BITFENIX SHINOBI WINDOW EDITION - AMD ATHLON X4 740 (SOCKET FM2) - GIGABYTE F2-A85XM-D3H - OCZ GOLD SERIES 4GB - NOCTUA NH-D14 - ATI RADEON 5850 2GB VAPOR-X - OCZ ZS-SERIES 550W PSU - WINDOWS 8 64BIT
