how it stays hidden under a panel.

the panel is removed to install the disc drive unless you mod it

I downgraded a couple things, but this would get almost the exact same performance in games.

Thanks for the build but I will need to be using that 16GB of ram and I do need hyperthreading/

Ah. my apologies. most people come on here for "the best build for my parent's $2000 budget" because they want to play minecraft and cawadoody.

Well, I see, my current PC is getting a bit slow so I went with the i7 so that if games in 1-2 years start demanding 8 threads instead of 4 threads I will be prepared. I also need that 16GB of ram because I use programs (video editing, rendering, etc) that require a bit of ram and it makes my workflow better because I do video editing as a part time job.

Looks great to me. I have the exact same motherboard and I like it. I highly recommend upgrading the bios to the most recent version since with the factory version I had some audio issues when attempting to overclock, even simply to the turbo 3.9 ghz. The red LED path lighting looks great in my air 540, since being a somewhat small board for the mobo tray gives it sort of an "underglow" look, with some light coming from behind the mobo as well as the surface of the mobo itself

As long as you have something else with a CD drive (like a laptop or something) you can install windows without having to buy and set up a cd drive in the new system. I did it with mine a few months ago. I can probably find the guide I used if you want to do that instead. I would probably also recommend getting the 250 gb Samsung Evo if you can afford it because A) the extra space will be nice to have so you wont have to worry about deleting stuff to make room for more stuff as much and B) the 250 GB model has slightly faster write speeds as well as more DDR2 than the 120 GB model.

2 air cooled r9 290s is going to be way too much heat for such a small case. My h440 has trouble when they both fire up so I can imagine a 350D almost melting aha

Pretty solid build. Personally I prefer bigger cases and a standard ATX mobo other than that, only thing I would do differently is get a bigger SSD.
