When I'm in the middle of gaming. I'm monitoring the temps of my components and nothing is above 40 C. Like I said it's just shutting off in the middle of use, my PSU's (AX760i) activity light goes from green to red and then my computer shuts off. This morning my computer wouldn't even turn on. I unplugged everything from the PSU then did the self test and it turned on, so I plugged everything back in and turned it on (everything worked). I played on my computer for about 20 or 30 mins and then it shut off again. Can anybody help me plz?

It might be something wrong with your PSU. Do you have another one you could test with? Otherwise, like luke_2bossly said, it might be something wrong with your connections.

Main Motherboard pin plugged in all the way? It might be loose?

I checked my 24 pin connector and the other CPU connector, they aren't loose

Unfortunately i don't have any other PSU's but I think that it is the PSU because when i checked the connectors a second ago i tried to turn it on and the PSU clicked on then on then off again in about 20 seconds. Well this sucks I've only had my computer for like 1.5 months so far...

Umm it's more like the second link than the first. My dad has an old PC that I can tear the PSU out of and stick mine into (hopefully) and see if it works. If I get the same results then I know it's the PSU but if it works fine then I have some faulty part that I'll probably need to take into the shop and get it looked at.

How are you measuring the PSU temps?

I turned on my computer I looked up the furmark thing and then it shut off I tried to turn it back on and it clicked on then back off. Now I think instead of trying to troubleshoot it myself I'm just going to bring it into a shop and egg it looked at. If it ends up being the PSU I'll call corsair and use up my warranty.

So it black screened as you were browsing for furmark? (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ is the place to find furmark)

Definitely get someone to look at it gl!

It sounds like there's a particular component in your PSU that's malfunctioning. If you can, request an RMA from them. Otherwise, buy another power supply. If you're looking for a better brand than Corsair, I recommend Seasonic. They make very efficient and reliable PSU's

Its strange because my PSU was a fairly shoddy thermaltake smartpower 750 w. but yours is a reputable corsair PSU!

The black screens are caused by the PSU, because it detects an error (over temperature, etc) the PSU will just shut the system down. Replacing the PSU will fix it

It's not strange per se, it's more of a transportation defect rather than a manufacturing one. See computer parts are very delicate despite their supposedly "hardy" build. Any bang or knock is guaranteed to cause problems in the future for the component's lifespan. My advice, treat them with care and aviod courier services. I had to return a couple of components that I had couriers ship to me and in the end I just went and collected the parts myself.

Ok so it IS the PSU causing the black screen/ shutdown. It's also weird cuz I used my computer today for like 3 mind before it shut off. I tried to turn it back in an it didn't work. But yesterday I played video games on it for like 5 or 6 hours. Yes I played videogamea for 5 or 6 hours...

Oh thats a normal PC. I thought you were running some crazy quad Crossfire/SLI machine and were running out of juice.

TDP seems fine, faulty supply most likely.
