I have windows 7 home premium that was used to upgrade from vista on my old pc

It may not be transferable, you need to find out.

If not, you will have to buy a copy of Windows which costs ~$100

I'm not going to sit here and preach #'s to yeah, those details are all over the place and each persons needs are different... but I would be wary of any future upgrade paths with this platform right now. If that's of no concern then even less to worry about.  On that note; I've been using the 8350 (check system specs) since it came out and I've been extremely happy with it. The HSF that came with it sucks tho, I mean its fine when its idle but as soon as you start to play games or do video/photo editing it fires up and its pretty effn loud. Since changing my desk area around the system is sitting right under me now so its damn annoying, I'm currently in a hunt for a HSF replacement. I just cant decide on what to replace it with.

In regards to gaming, I mainly play BF4, Assetto Corsa, Blood Dragon and DayZ @ 2560x1440 (very low AA) and I have no real complaints. I don't bother with exact FPS as long as the game play is buttery smooth, which is practically most of the time. If anything my ref 670 is what's holding me back.

Again for everyday use the platform works really REALLY well, I've had zero issues since day one. Are there faster systems out there, sure, but its up to you to debate those finer details. I'm just sharing some light on the system its self in real world situations.

Hope this helps and good luck!
