My friend needs a GPU update , he have a gt210 and he wants to know what you guys think , he should buy a 780 ti class ACX or wait for the gtx 880 ? comments in the web are saying the 880 is slower than the 780 ti but faster than 780. pls help him

May I ask, WTF was he doing with a GT210 in the first place?

 

Secondly, to answer your original question, there is no answer... yet.

 

Sorry bud, but your friend is gonna have to wait until review samples go out, and reviews/benchmarks start surfacing from legit reviewers. We really can only speculate.

 

SHORT ANSWER: Just tell him to buy the 780 Ti if he is ready to buy right now. Any differences are going to be fairly negligible.

 

First rule of thumb for upgrading: If you want to upgrade, then upgrade. Don't wait for newer stuff unless it's only a few weeks away.

or...you can buy "a cheap" cool card to make time (not sure what recommend from nvidia friend)

 

and you can wait for the new 880 (ti ultra extreme kingpin spiderman plus +1)  :rolleyes:

 

 

 

you can also buy a R9 270 and sell it in a couple months (when the 880 come out)

 

i am pretty sure people will buy it (and will cost a fraction of the 880 price)   

 

 

 

i forget add, the new 880 have to be at least equal on power to the 780ti (i think)

 

other rumors say that will be a 256 bits card (all family will be)

 

and one more say that it be not be on the GK110 family
