Pc cant sleep

Help. My PC was working fine and everything and now suddenly when I put it into sleep mode, my screen will shut off, it doens't go through the log off stage and then it just starts blinking. And I when I touch the keyboard/mouse it won't turn, I have set to turn back when at the touch of anything. I have to hold the power button down and go through the whole windows did not shut off normally.
What happened?

My WiFi card does that to me, because it uses an Atheros Bluetooth chipset and the drivers for it are terrible.

 

Could be any number of things.

could be a lot of things. did you recently get a new peripheral like a printer or sound card or usb device, or change any settings in the bios?

Now, my Pc turns on but I have to reset it a few times to get the display to work.. Everything was working fine until this morning when it started doing this. I have a 4790k on a Asus z97-AR motherboard also and a GTX 770. All drivers are current and bios settings are default. I can't even put the pc to sleep or the display wont come on but the pc is on. I have to fully restart for it to work.

it was merged into one topic instead if many topics of the same subject.

this way you get correct solutions than many different suggestions and getting

confused.

I think that it can be a background program that doesn't let the PC sleep.

Maybe try in safe mode?
