~$1500 gaming SETUP

Go to solution Solved by brob,

is this better? (i have an option for OC later)

You loose a fair bit of compute power going with an i5. A Xeon will not negatively impact gaming, (nor will an i7). So the question becomes "How important is the prospect of overclocking?" If you really want to be able to overclock, by all means go with the unlocked i5 and z97 motherboard. On the other hand, if you don't have a real interest in overclocking (and there is nothing wrong with that), then go with the Xeon or a locked i5 (i.e. non-K). It will provide much more computing power. As a result it will likely have a longer useful life.

any recommendation for 550w bronze modular PSU?  .. if it will be enough for my build:)

Stay with the M12II 620W Seasonic. It is a good psu and is not overly large.

Hey guys:) I decided to build my own gaming PC (i'll be using it for gaming and school - computer tehnician). I won't overclock.

I want to make sure that everything fit, if there is anything that isn't good just say please, I really want to see what do you think about the whole setup.

UNless you really have something that can utilize the hyper-threading you might want to get an I5-4690 instead.

You can also drop the PSU to 550W, you really do not need more. I would also look into replacing the GTX 770 with an R9 290 Tri-X from sapphire. It's just about the same price but has (usually) 10-20% higher performance and is better for 1440p should you choose to go down that path.

EDit: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl8d8gbxm Also this RAM is only $2,50 more expensive but has higher frequency and lower CAS latency making it better for practically the same price.

Edit: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te250bw slightly more expensive SSD but the 840 EVO is a work of art. Worth taking over crucial.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Yeah i'll maybe change to 550w, any recommendation for 550w bronze modular PSU?

i'll buy this components and peripherals at: http://www.hardwareversand.de/home.jsp - r9 290 is about 100€ more expensive so..

What about monitor? It must be 24" and under 170€ at http://www.hardwareversand.de/home.jsp

thank you:)

This monitor is pretty good http://www.hardwareversand.de/en/56+cm+%2822%29+/154758/AOC+i2367Fm.article

Unless you are using all the threads on the processor, get an i5.

Still recommend getting R9 290 over GTX 770 since you get way more performance for the same price unless you have a specific reason for Nvidia (like owning a Shield). Also would recommend getting MSI Z97 PC MATE or Guard pro instead of an ASUS motherboard. I genuinely prefer those over ASRock.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
