Alright so I finally fixed my broken hard drive, but I ran into different problems now. When I boot Linux Mint, it refuses to start the Xorg server which is the GUI. So after a while of screwing around trying to fix that, I said "f*ck this, I'll just install a different distro." I made a bootable USB with OpenSUSE on it and when I boot from the USB I get "Could not find kernel image: gfxboot" or something like that and it keep repeating itself over and over again. Entering commands for the "boot:" option does absolutely nothing, it just returns the same "Could not find kernel image: boot" message. Should I just try installing yet another distro? Any help is appreciated.

Use UNetBootin to make a bootable USB, the program you use could mess up the files. I'd recommend Xubuntu over Mint though.

I've used Rufus instead of UNetBooting and it's never failed before, are you sure that's why?

What USB bootloader are you using?  I'd recommend UNETBootin or Rufus.

Also, did you check the MD5 hash of the image you downloaded? Make sure it's identical to the one on the website.

I'm using Rufus, it's faster and easier to use but I'll try it with UNetBootin next time.

Nope, I'm not sure at all.

Could it be a faulty USB Drive? Have you tried the USB Drive on a different PC/HDD?

Yeah, I used it on my main PC and that same PC. It works fine, I was able to boot the live system on Mint

Download this, unzip it, and drag your .iso onto the .exe file.  It will calculate the MD5 Hash, and you can compare it to the one listed on the website where you downloaded your distro.

Well guys I'm just gonna try installing Elementary OS this time, that OS never screws up. If it does, well it's probably the computer. That hard drive may or may not work right anymore.

I had to fix it cause I Kaioken x50-punched it.

PlayOnLinux and WINE work great for some windows-dependant games, but not all. Especially battlefield.
