Hey guys,

My pc is connected to a 7.1 surround sound on the back, and my headset to the front.

When I want the sound to switch to my headset or my surround sound, I always have to right click on the sound icon, playback devices, select my headset or my speakers, set as default and done...

This gets quite annoying after a few times. Is there any way that my motherboard auto detects when my headset is plugged in and automatically switches to it?
Also, I had to change the settings in my Realtek audio manager to make that I can choose between my headset and Speakers, or else it would play the audio to both of them.

Do you guys have any idea how I can change this so It auto-detects?

In case you need it, this is my audiochipset:

Thx allot!

You should only see one Realtek output in the Windows Audio settings. In the Realtek Manager, make sure you have not disabled the front panel detection (click the folder icon on the right side).

Then make sure your device settings are correct; mute rear output when front jack is detected. I think you need to disable the second option for making front and rear play different streams.

This how its done on my ALC887, your chip might not even have the feature, though.
