I just got a good deal on the Asus P8Z68-V Pro MoBo with the 2600k. Should I return them and get something like a 4770k? They're still in return period so I can. Also, can my Thermaltake 500W TR2 PSU get a 2600k to 4.5ghz?

CPU: Intel Devil's Canyon i7 4790k | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 (will get 880) | MoBo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 | Keyboard: Razer Anansi | Drives: SanDisk 120GB SSD, 1TB Toshiba 7200RPM HDD

Keep them, they are not very far off in performance. And the PSU should do.

Yeah. It seems the 2600k gets to 5GHZ easier than the 4790k lol

I think the 2600k was still soldered instead of some shitty paste to the die from the lid.

You're fine with a 2600k. I still prefer sandy bridge CPU's over any of the newer generations anyway.

Correct.

Why not mate?

cos you dont see any benefits and he will just shorten the life of his processor and pump out heat that isnt needed unless he has a custom loop
