I cant get my imac g4 to boot from a Kubuntu disk my windows pc boots fine from. Im holding C like you need to. Do i need a special thing for the powerpc architecture?

I believe you would need a special distro for PowerPC stuff. I don't know if there is one, however.

Yeah, i cant to to much on mac OS, i cant get a proper browser.

Couldn't you put up to OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on it?

I tried. I have the disks, but i some how need to make my computer think its 867 mhz or higher. I can try that too, there is a way to do that

Right, it was the G5 that could do 10.5. The G4 was limited to 10.4, I think.

All g4 can do it, some are at 1ghz and suported it, mine 800mhz so it needs trickery to do it.

 

 

 

Im now working on gettingt Debian on it, a powerpc port. Ill see if it works/
