Which cpu is better the i5 4670k or the pentium g3258 anniversary edition

What's better a Supra or a Prius?

However the above joke also leans true as the G3258 uses a lot less power, might be more practical for a lower end setup

The g3258 has very specific uses meaning that even at it's price it's just not practical for most people: If you have a spare mobo because you upgraded or will upgrade for example, for little money you can put together a competent system.

But for people building for it? Yes it's cheap but to have the insane overclocks you'd need to spend way too much on a motherboard not to mention proper cooling, at least double what you paid for the processor. And it's lack of other features means that if you get a cheaper motherboard it just won't overclock as much and you'd be better of with something simpler and not that much more expensive like an i3 4130
