Im trying to decide whether I should get the i5 4690 or the i5 4690k...is there any difference between the the two accept for the overclock?

Aside from the overclock the 4690k uses 4W more power iirc on stock setting but that's insignificant.

Strange, over here in holland the 4690 and 4690k are sold with the same clock speed namely 3.5GHz.

If you're overclocking, 4690K. If you're not overclocking, Xeon E3-1230 V3

K series is unlocked and can be overclocked. thats it

Intels K-edition CPUs normally (not taking dc into account) doesn't feature certain technologies like TSX, VT-d and etc. This is done so the both products doesn't compete against eachother.

the 4690K will likely be higher quality, and consume less power and create less heat than the non-K at the same speeds. non-K cpu's are locked because they didn't make the grade, and binned poorly enough to receive the laser.
