SSD not seen in My Computer

Go to solution Solved by TheKDub,

You need to create a partition on the SSD (I'd suggest just making the entire thing one partition), then it will show up

I figured this out when I connected my laptops current hard drive via usb to replace the old one.

After 3 months I finally got a chance and time to install a brand new SSD I purchased about 3 months ago.  I've been planning on using it as a second internal hard drive.  I connected it, powered the computer on and didn't see it in My Computer.  I figured it would take a few minutes to recognize the device, but after 30minutes, nothing.  So I went to the Computer Management and looked under the Disk Management and found it.  I formatted it and when it was done, I expected it to pop up in My Computer, but again nothing.  I did a few reboots and waiting, but still the additional drive would not show up in My Computer.  I'm pretty lost here.

At first I thought I had a bad SATA port on the board, but the system management saw the drive, confirmed the drive's size, and as far as I can tell formatted it.  Any idea what's going on here?

Currently there is 1 main HDD (w/ 2 partitions) and 1 extra HDD for simple storage (1 partition).
My Mobo has enough connections for 4 drives connected via SATA.

My mistake, I should have explained this better.  When I formatted, I also partitioned.

But then again, I wiped it totally so I likely failed to partition it the last time through.  I'll try this and report back.  I just lower power so I'm at a bit of a stand still.

Thanks for the replies guys.   I'll let you know if more help is needed in the very near future.
