AsRock boards any good?

I want to upgrade my system from Z68 to Z77 but I cant find a good board that I like and i noticed that AsRock has some good priced boards but I'm not sure about their quality since I never owned one before. I want an Asus but i cant find the board I want (P8-Z77-M Pro).

If by good price you mean cheap then yeah they have them. :P

Buy MSI or ASUS.

Asrock is a company that stepped up their game quite a lot lately.

The only Asrock board I know on Z77 is the Asrock Z77 Pro4, I used it on a build and it kicks some ass! great board.

I also have experience with some of the Z97 and H87 boards from them, which are pretty nice.

Stupid.

They are good but i suggest only getting z97 extreme4 and upwards (in price)

I own a Z77 Pro4 and a Z87 Extreme4, both are rock solid.

Their z87 and z97 board quality is very good, not sure on anything before that, but their 1 year warranty shows that they don't trust in their product as much as they should, for a budget I'd look for a msi or gigabyte board.

Also why z77?

So far, not a single issue with any model board ive ever bought/recommended. The really cheap 970 extreme 3 board was FANTASTIC for the price, did way more then i ever thought it would. I do have an Asus board now, but thats due to having the money for it. So far the most problematic boards ive used are Gigabyte and MSI, but that doesn't mean they are bad!

Owning AsRock Extreme4+ A88X. Can't recommend them as this board is dying after 4 months of normal use. Overheating chipsets, lack of driverupdates and their customerservice still hasn't responded to my request about the heating after a month. Get something proper like asus or gigabyte if they are anvailable for that Z77.

Cracking this board in a half once I get project katana savedd up. So frustrated can't help myself.

Bye LTT. That was an interesting journey on this board. At least here you see how not to do it. I'll go shaking my head about this place.

I'm sorry you probably haven't been on the internet that long this ---> :P generally means joking. I just prefer ASUS and MSI as they get better reviews and are generally more reliable that is my OPINION and if it isn't shared by you than so be it. I don't like them.

That is over 4 years old. ASRock has taken huge strides in the lat few years, so that linking is very misleading.

I'm running an IVY cpu and i don't plan on upgrading ti for a few years and i need a more reliable and more stable board than what i ave now.

Fair enough just throwing it out there. Truth is I wouldn't buy one either. :)

Didn't read the comments before mine - just pointing that out.

I have an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and it's worked fine since I've had it - it was replacing my bork Maximus V Gene :(

I can say this: it does not like my 2500k being clocked to 4.5Ghz, I don't know what it is. I've increased voltage and it still bluescreens - didn't have that problem with the Asus board.

I really want the P8Z77-M pro but i cant find it anywhere for udner 150 and all the places that do have them its liek 300+$

that is normal those are old boards, and older hardware always is more expensive until its faded out and no longer available...you should jump on the z77-a while its still available it's a very solid board that does everything well.

any brand producing a "Z" series board aside from intel themselves (ironically) are good, Biostar, Asrock, MSI, Asus (overpriced), Gigabyte non of them are particularly bad. This was a viable question around 10 years ago when things weren't as advanced as today.
