A first timer needs help !

i thinking about a build and have a question. If my graphics card gtx760 only supports VGA can i use my mother boards hdmi ports instead and still have my graphics card running that port instead of my integrated graphics. thx

I think it's one or the other (dedicated GPU or integrated GPU), but I can't remember for the life of me.

No if you have a GPU installed you need to use the GPU's ports.

No you don't, you can just leave the GPU installed and have it be useless with the monitor plugged into onboard.

VGA outputs analog signal, HDMI is digital, an adapter will not work. You need a converter.

ahaha I just read through all the replies. I'm pretty sure they're talking about a passive VGA to HDMI adapter, which doesn't exist.
