Back story: around a week ago I upgraded to the corsair 330r which has a radiator/dual fan mount on the top, and one of the first things I though was I really hope nothing spills while I have the cover off the fan opening.

So today I was doing so work on a laptop and had a glass of water on my desk, I was busy in thought and went to grab a USB stick and boop there goes the glass and the water right into the fan opening which was open as I had been playing a game. Well now I'm going through the lovely process of airing out the PC and putting stuff like GPU in rice.

There where blobs of water on the GPU PCB but I unplugged the PC within around 1-2 seconds of knocking the glass off, how likely is it to survive if fully dried out?

THAT is bad.

Could be noise of electric shorts instead.

Dry it to death before you put it back, any risk now is when it powers on (if it's not already dead).

Is it pure water or a salty / sugary beverage? That also makes a difference with how long it stays.

It was normal tap water, luckily not that much actually got into the case, most of the water that did get in landed on non PCB such as the metal casing around the PSU and the plastic on the GPU. Glad for the RAM heat spreaders now as well :P
