Hi all,

My friend and I built my PC about 3 weeks ago and it works fine. However, watching a Linus tech tips video I decided to check my BIOS settings and low and behold my PC is not running optimally.

I've discovered my Corsair Vengeance 8gb 2400 ram is running on auto at 1333mhz and also that my SATA mode selection is set to IDE not AHCI.

I have a couple of queries, firstly, how do I change these settings without breaking my PC and secondly, is there anything else I should check to see isn't running optimally?

Take it easy on me I'm a newbie at all this PC building malarky ;)!

Thanks for any replies,

Eddie

I am running windows 7, yes.

Change the memory feq and reboot, Do not touch the sata settings for now.

After your memory is running at full speed

then follow this:

1. Startup "Regedit
2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlset / Services
3. Open msahci聽
4. In the right field left click on "start" and go to Modify聽
5. In the value Data field enter "0" and click "ok"
6. exit "Regedit"聽
7. Reboot Rig and enter BIOS (hold "Delete" key while Booting to get into your BIOS. this is the point when you want to change the SATA mode from IDE>AHCI)
Done :D

Everything is working as it should be with the new settings, thanks a lot!!
