So it doesn't matter if I'm watching a Youtube video, browsing the internet, or playing a game, occasionally my screen will freeze up.

Sometimes when I'm playing a game, (for some reason it seems to happen ALL the time in World of Tanks, but barely ever at all in any other game), my game will crash to the desktop, but still be running in the background, but I have to sign out of my PC and sign back in again in order to continue with my game.  Sometimes in the bottom corner, but not always, I get the error message saying my display driver stopped responding.

Now that has been happening for awhile and I assumed that it was something to do with World of Tanks, along with an overclock on my GPU. (R9 280x DCUII TOP)

But I've messed all around in my OC and changing it around hasn't helped a bit.

But just within the last few days something else has been starting to happen that wasn't going on before.  Now I'll be watching a Youtube video or even just a home video and my screen will freeze up completely, turn black for a second or two, then return to its original state, flash the big "ASUS: DVI: thing in the top corner, and then sometimes show the "AMD display driver has stopped responding", in the bottom corner.

Yes I am running the current drivers from AMD's website, and yes I have tried using beta and non beta drivers as well as previous driver versions and all of that.

So what's going on? Is my card dying? It stays perfectly stable when running demanding games and applications, it just seems to make me crash to my desktop or black screen for a few seconds every once in awhile.

I would really appreciate any and all replies and help to this because I'm finally stumped...

Have you tried checking your HDD for bad sectors? It might be something with the files related to the driver itself...

I don't want to point finger yet but I will say Asus AMD cards are the worst thing I ever encountered

I will say try swapping your GPU to the next slot

do a proper power connections and see if it helps

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
