Gday Guys,

HDD in question:

Seagate 5tb backup plus external HDD

Format: NTFS

I have a mate who just bought a seagate 5tb backup plus external HDD. Now he is using it on a mac with  virtual machine running windows. This is through his work and as far as he tells me he doesn't actually have access to the OSX part of his mac-book pro, as far as he can tell it boots straight to windows. Anyway the issue is when he tries to write to the drive he gets an error stating that it is write protected, similarly he gets this issue when he tries to format the drive.

Anyone know what might be going on here? He has been able to use 5 or 6 other drives that are all formatted in NTFS as well, without any issues, its just this particular drive.

Cheers
