How do you get into eSports?? It sounds interesting to me, and I love being competitive. Where do I go and what do I have to do as a 15 year old to get into eSports?? Is this even possible for people my age?

Depends on what game you want to play. If you want to do shooters (csgo,bf3,COD) check out

www.CEVO.com

www.ESEA.net

LOL/Dota are huge e-sport titles but I'm not really sure where you would get started, I would assume just getting into it you need to find a group of guys with like minded goals and just start crushing Match Making games until you feel you're ready to do some tournaments (google is your friend here)

If you want to do singplayer stuff, than Starcraft II is probably where it's at.... again just start doing the leagues/ladders blizzard hosts until you feel good enough to start branching out and finding tournaments to do.

You can also check out Shootmania,,,, the game was designed as a classic e-sport shooter, however the community is terribly small and based on the video's I've seen it looks really fkn boring.

Also do you have to go to places to actually compete in eSports? Or can you just play from home on a fast Internet connection??

I'm not a big fan of zombie games lol

Battlefield 3, play ESL and try to add good players on battlelog with who you can play clan matches with.

Counter Strike, try to add good players and play skirmishes(mixes) and find 4 other good players but for this game tournaments are played on LAN.

I meant I guess it would be proffesional gameplay. Where you compete in games and win $$ prizes. I guess I'm not good enough for that though. I'm better than the average player but not the best in the world.

If you want to get $$ your best bet is games like Dota 2 for great support for tournaments, and LoL (which i don't consider an eSport but....) where the devs have thrown so much money into it that they made an eSport title.

Hopefully Battlefield 4 gets eSport support and takes the crown of FPS eSports but the only thing i wouldn't recommend is ESEA. They have deliberately put a code for Bitcoin mining in their anti cheat software which is now removed but it ran for 2 weeks and there were people that damaged their hardware because of this.

If you want to win money by gaming then big leagues like ESEA, ESL and MLG are the thing. But there's no fast way to get in. First pick you game. If you'r not sure which games have decent to big scenes around them, look at Twitch.tv most viewed games. Those attract most players and fans, and of course... sponsors. Then find forum or site from your country/area and seek place which has something along with "recruitments". Thats place where teams and players search eachothers. Also game specific forums are good place to start. Don't try to get top teams first. Find some active low-mid level team to get used to playing matches. Then you can improve your skills and find better team. Even mid level teams which are active can achieve prizes from smaller competions or LANs. Not money, but gear etc. Remember that eSports is becoming everyday more like "real"sports.
