Back in the beginning of May I bought a Nexus 7 from BestBuy (I had gift cards, don't judge). Since then I have been using the device as my daily driver for my mobile needs when away from the computer (it fits in my pocket, why bother with a puny phone). Since I carry it around in my pocket like a phone, and the glass is fairly large it is quite susceptible to cracks, and this one has caused the digitizer to stop working on the top half the screen above the crack. The LCD still works. Sadly, the Digitizer and the LCD are fused together (Asus/Google are no better than Apple) so replacing just the digitizer would be risky, if even possible. Replacing both the LCD and and Digitizer would therefore cost me $80, a third of the price for the tablet. I have owned the device for less than 90 days at this point, but i'm not entirely sure the xtend of the warranty. I know WorstBuy won't take it back because they are quite terrible to be honest. Regardless is it to late to RMA the tablet for a new one? Should I contact Asus or Google for this process? I don't feel like spending $80 replacing the entire screen after only 2 or so months of use.

Anyways, here is an image that illustrates the problem, take note in my amazing illustrator abilities that have allowed me to make such a perfect stick figure.

That's normal, you will have to replace the entire screen.

Sucks, I know. I had the same thing with my original Nexus 7.

Wow, it kind of sucks. Darn it, Gorilla Glass sucks. Is it still possible to RMA the device?

It may be. Contact ASUS and/or Best Buy and see what they will do.
