Possible Build Soon!

jman0887

I'm planning my first build and was wondering if this is good for gaming at 1080p with some other uses as well? I will be purchasing a GPU later, a 770 or 780/780ti. The main question I have is the mobo. I don't know if I should go with the one in the PcPartPicker list or the http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132124&cm_re=asus_mark_1-_-13-132-124-_-Product   Here's the build :

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($373.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 U3 Plus ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($151.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($174.99 @ Canada Computers)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($149.79 @ DirectCanada)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($81.99 @ Canada Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($99.79 @ DirectCanada)
Total: $1146.51
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Also is there any part compatibility issues, and should I get faster ram.  Thanks in advanced!

You Don't need a i7, get a i5 4690K and a 550W psu and 8gb of ram and get a decent GPU to play games maybe a 280x or 770

My PC

[ I5 4690k (no oc) - Gigabyte Z97 D3H - 8GB Ram - Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X ]

This looks like it would make a pretty nice workstation, but for gaming, don't expect anything decent.

Right now it's ass for gaming, but if you add a good R9 290 (Tri-X maybe?), it'll be fine.

The EVGA psu I linked above is better than the Corsair HX.
