I'm here in need of your help! First off, I'm from Sweden and my budget is limited to 2000kr/€220/$300/£175 for headphone and microphone combined.

I'll be using them 10-14 hours daily, largely for gaming/music purposes. I do talk in voice communication programs a lot i.e. skype, teamspeak and ventrilo. Therefore I would really like a quality mic but without a popfilter if possible. I've no idea what sort of microphone I want that my budget would allow after a decent pair of headphones. The Samson Meteor seems alright? Only heard of one streamer using it (Reckful) but he has additional audio equipment along with it. I enjoy quite a hefty amount of bass. I've been keeping an eye out for Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm but I dunno if I can power it by only my motherboard, Yes/no/maybe? I don't really understand how (Ohm) work power wise.

Thanks in advance!

I've tried them out and personally, I think the microphone is awful and I've heard that the headset isn't reliable at all (stops working/malfunctioning). They are pretty much the opposite of what I want...

After owning Astro A50's I can most certainly tell you not to buy them.   Obsurdly overpriced and the audio quality is sub par at best.  I switched from Astro A50 to $180 audiotechnica ath-ad900x, I was amazed with the difference, and disappointed I bought A50's in the first place.  I've since then sold the 900X's and moved to higher end headphones.

Dt990 will be fine off onboard, but may need a little bit extra juice. (Any $40-100 amp+dac will be fine to power them if your onboard isn't enough)

Do you know what type of sound you want?  The Dt990 has somewhat of a "V" shaped sound signature, with elevated highs and bass, with recessed mids.

Thanks for the reply! From what I've read (http://www.head-fi.org/t/513393/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more#post_6938759), Dt990 would be the best fit for me. However, I'm still unsure on what microphone I should buy within my budget.... Any Suggestions? As I've said, I prefer to avoid buying a external popfilter.

Blue Snowflakes are solid for non-prosumers, if in euroland, Modmic.

Audio technica ATH m40x And a AT-2035 mic

He is bent on DT's, which is fine because it is a better headphone anyway. And that mic is far to expensive and requires a audio interface. Very wasteful for someone that won't be doing anything more the VoIP.
