Ahoi guys,

i bought an Intel Pentium G3258 „Anniversary Edition“ and a cheap used ASUSTek H87-Plus Mainboard, 'cause I heard Linus talking on NCIX Tech Tips about the bios update that allows to overclock the processor.

My problem is that I careless bought a high profile 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 Ram.

The RAM itself is 45mm high and directly from the mainboard it's 49mm.

Can someone give me an advice which CPU-Cooler fits above or beside the RAM and is suitable for a bit overclocking? ^^

greetings,

saturnu

as the guy above em pointed out an all in one liquid cooler is probably your best option, ram clearance is a non issue at that point all you need worry about is whether your case can fit the radiator, with the amount of options out there you should be set

If you plan on overclocking, any AIO Liquid Cooler should work but don't quote me on that but if you plan on air cooling, Noctua NH-U14s or u12s

NH-U14. Cheaper than a h100i, performs like a h100i, much much quieter than a h100i. (Same goes for the u14s vs any 240mm cooler)

CPU: i7 3770k@ 4.6Ghz@ 1.23v - GPU: Palit GTX 660ti - MOBO: Asrock Extreme 4 - RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz - PSU: OCZ 650watt - STORAGE: 128Gb corsair force GT SSD/ 1TB seagate barracuda 7200rpm

                                                                                         COOLING: NH-U14s/ 3x Noiseblocker blacksilent pros/ Silverstone Air Penetrator/ 2 corsair AF120s
