Need help pluging in a Modular PSU

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

You absolutly sure? i don't wanna fry my stuff

On the RM, yes. The PCIe and CPU power cables go into the same plugs and will only fit into the correct ones. It doesn't matter which one you use.

Hi , I just finished puting all of my components in my case and when i started to plug in the PSU power wires i realized that the manual said nothing about what goes where...i searched online and did not find a single article / video showing the proper place for each wire ( PCI-E , SATA etc.). Please Help me guys :(

(My PSU is a Corsair RM850)

My RM750 has labels on the PSU. They are above the connectors.

I don't understand the issue...

Ok...IT says PCI-E 6+2 +& 4+4 CPU  but over about 6 slots... they are not all the same power...thats my problem , figuring out which one is for the cpu and which one is for the PCI-E stuff

They are all the same... My PC is working pretty well and I didn't care what went where.

No, my first PC actually fried when I plugged it in because Corsair didn't tell any one that using different ports would fry the computer.

TBH why didn't they include a SIMPLE PICTURE of the ports being used for cpu , pcie etc. ... i have a headache from trying to figure this out xD

Because it's common knowledge that it doesn't matter which port you plug something into as long as it is under the matching label. They wouldn't label the ports in a way that would kill the computer. Who ever told you it mattered is wrong.

The only thing that matters is that you plug the right cables into each component (they are labeled on the connectors) and plug the other end into a port that is under the matching label.

Just make sure you used the right cables. I almost used a PCI-E plug on my CPU because I mixed them up somehow. Also the 24 pin with the RM750 I have is very tough to get in. I didn't plug it in all the way and my computer wouldn't turn on. It still falls out whenever I move the case so just be weary of that and check that first if your PC doesn't power on.
